Over the holiday break, I decided to work on a couple of projects at home. Since the last project was just completed, let me share what they are. Enjoy!
- Organize my file folders: After spreading all the documents on the floor and shredding lost of paper, mission accomplished!
- Build a personal Cloud: I got a 2TB LaCie Network Attached Storage connected to my wireless. Now I can access my files everywhere as long as there is Internet connection. The box with a big blue light on the front looks pretty cool. My friend Doug was joking after he heard what I was doing: oh, you are like an angel building clouds. That’s an interesting and creative aspect…
- Grow an Amaryllis: I got the bulb at the hardware store and was wondering, why not. It bloomed over the holidays and into the New Year. It’s pretty!
- Put together the finger print art: I got the idea from Kerie who I met in Switzerland. She is a real-life CSI in Texas. We were just chatting about her work. It gave me an idea of making canvas out of my finger prints. It would go well with the canvas of my DNA print in the tea room. They look really nice.
- Make a book out of my personal journal from the around-the-world trip in 2011: Sorry, it’s a personal journal and not for public viewing. It’s a 65-page book, with all the notes I took during the trip. It’s a special memory to me.
- Make a photo book from my around-the-world trip: This is the most time-consuming project. I decided to put together a photo book with the pictures I took from my trip. I had to select, compile, and arrange the pictures into a large-size, landscape photo book. It takes 186 pages with 915 pictures total. I just got the hard copies back this week. I love it! If you are interested in checking it out, I also made an eBook with it. Feel free to check out the “Round The World 2011” page from the tab on the top of my website. You can download it to your eBook reader. Although the alignment of the page numbers for the Table of Contents is not correct (due to the software that I used) in the eBook, the rest of book is exactly what I arranged. Have fun browsing!
- Get the moose to smoke: Markus in Germany sent me an incense burner with the shape of a moose. It’s cute. I didn’t get to play it until recently. It’s fun and it smells nice too.
Happy New Year, and Happy Chinese New Year!
From CLOUD to incense, armaryllis and origami, finger print and DNA print art,….you enjoy everything from high tech to traditional. You organize so well and I must say you are so cool. Good job! Already downloaded the photo book, will browse later. Thanks.
