I try to update and/or fix something around the house. This year, with the help from Cliff and Sue in my yoga class, they took on the project of fixing a couple small things around the house, and building an small roof above my patio door. Cliff did a fantastic job and suggested painting the eave blue. I went for it and I like it! It adds a splash of color to the roof. Cliff also built and small roof at the corner of garage, to prevent the rain splashed on the electrical box to allow the water to leak into the garage. That’s a lot of work. Cliff and Sue were very patiently explaining what they are doing and why they are doing it. There is a lot of skills and knowledge involved. I am pretty sure that I am not up for this type of work! 🙂
Doug took on the project of repainting the exterior of the house. We were trying to figure out why the original color doesn’t look like what the wall looked like currently. Maybe it faded? Maybe the previous painter didn’t pick the right color? Regardless, I went with the color I want and it brighten up the house really well. Doug brought a friend, and even his son and his son’s girlfriend to do the painting. Doug also washed the wall, cleaned up the shutters, and replaced a couple of rotten siding. It’s nice of Doug fixing things as he saw them. Although the weather got too cold to finish the painting (just the trim above the garage left), I am happy with how it looks. Hopefully we, or Doug will say I 🙂 can finish it early next year!
With Mark’s help, I also winterized all the equipment in my garage: lawn mower, trimer, tiller, generator, and chain saw. He also filled the air of my wheel barrel, and tires of my car with his air compressor. It’s very nice of him helping me. He was very patient and explaining to me what he is doing. I feel I am ready for winter!
