Yesterday morning there was an accident for a ferry from Zanzibar to Pemba. I heard that one to two hundreds of people died. The divers are still rescuing missing people when I left from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam today. The flag is raised half way here. Very sorry for the lost of the people in Tanzania. My ferry today was uneventful. I walked around and found a restaurant to have some Lebanese food for lunch/dinner. I just checked in to the airport and am waiting for my fight. It will be going to Nairobi, Kenya first, and off to Germany. See you in Europe!
Gorgeous colors on these Zanzibar beach photos, Justin!! Sorry to hear about the loss of lives on the ferry-glad that your ferry was okay! Hope you have a smooth trip to Europe!
I just read more about the accident. It was pretty hunting when I was there. The nation was mouring…
When I heard the coverage of the accident in Tanzania,I thought you should be far far away from the spot. I can not believe it may be within 50 miles only! I regret the northbound ferry had such accident. Thank God that your southbound ferry was uneventful. Keep walking, Justin Walker!
The divers were busy at rescuing, instead of the typical business. There was a scheduled party at my neighbor hotel (full moon party) and it was cancelled. It’s just not a party time with the tragedy.
The gods were protecting you. 🙂
Thanks Jay. My trip is going well so far!
It is such a reminder of the fleetness of life.
I am happy to see that you are well, and enjoying your trip. the photos are wonderful.
Thanks Jim. Yeah, enjoy and cherish life!
