Hanging in Zurich

I arrived in Zurich and checked in to my room at a pension in the evening last night. I checked in at the coffee/bar on the first floor. My apartment room is two stories up. It’s a relaxing coffee shop. The room is very comfortable with a view to the courtyard. Nothing fancy but basic and comfortable. The bed is very comfortable. It’s a memory foam mattress! I had to shop around and found a place for dinner, since it was getting late. Most of the places were closed. I found this place Volkshaus, which was a good find. Food was good – I got a rocket salad with berries and meat balls with tomato salad. I went back and had a really good night sleep. I will be just strolling around in Zurich, until I am ready to take a train to Luzern tonight, my next stop. Oh, my impression about Zurich/Switzerland is very positive. People I talked to or asked questions to were very helpful and polite. For example, When I yield a bike or a car on the street, they would acknowledge with a smile and say thanks. What a friendly place!

I like Zurich! I have been there 22 years ago and luckily had dinner in a pub+restaurant as late as 10:00pm. I still remember the waitress came around 10:50 to tell me she would leave after 10 minutes and I can call Ms.XXX to get service still. What a polite people!
