Kajitsu – a memorable Japanese restaurant in NYC

I went to the restaurant Kajitsu for dinner when I visited New York City recently. They offer the Shojin cuisine, which is  a type of vegetarian cooking that originates in Zen Buddhism. It is one of the best meal I have ever had. I went for the 9-course meal. I will let the pictures speak for itself!

I like Japanese food too and enjoyed various kind of food in Japan. Shojin cuisine(精進料理)is not cheap especially in NYC. On my way from Time Square to Rockefeller Center, I enjoyed good food, beer, and sake(Japanese wine) at SAKE BAR HAGI. I know liquor is not your friend but you can visit this Japanese Izakaya(居酒屋) to have food and beverage to enjoy Japanese atmosphere like you are in Japan.

Thanks for the suggestions! I have to try one of these restaurants when I go back to NYC again next time. 🙂 Happy holidays!
