Time for another posting! I am sitting in my living room, without power. The first snow storm of the year is happening right now. And it’s not even Halloween yet! At least 3G is still working on my iPhone…
I just got back from a business trip to California last Thursday. I battled the traffic in Boston and drove to my Thursday night Yoga class. I arrived just in time for the class. As I approached to the Lancaster Community Center, the snow was coming down. That was the first snow of the season! It’s way too early. What can you do – it’s crazy New England weather.
I made another business trip to Chicago the week I came back to work, after the long trip. It’s two weeks ago. It’s a short trip. I am just happy that I get to stay at home this weekend.
In the past 3 weeks or so, I have returned to the ice for skating, started my Yoga class (really happy to see all the smiling faces in my Yoga class), and did various chores around the house. I changed the water filter, air filter, replaced a fire alarm, and trimmed the plants in my garden for the winter. I had to do some emergency fix to my hot tub today. It’s leaking a little. Since the snow storm is coming, I had to patch it myself, refilled the water, and keep the tub going until the repair man comes, hopefully next week. All those house chores.
I did enjoy going to an ice show at the Harvard ice rink with Janet and Lisa. Janet ordered the ticket for me – thanks! I had no idea who would skate. It turned out to be a good lineup: Yu-Na Kim from Korea, who was the lady’s gold medalist at the last Winter Olympics. Oksana Baiyu, who also won the gold medal at Olympics. And other current and up-coming national and international skaters. That was a fun night. And I also ran into Elliot, went to to get some late night snack, and chatted. It’s nice to be around friends.
That’s it for now! I got my fire going after I came back from ice skating this afternoon. I hope my electricity will be back soon. And hopefully there won’t be any falling trees in my backyard because of the snow…
I am home!!!
Watched splendid world series baseball games @ St.Louis on Thur/Fri, I recall you were there around 20 years ago and drove to east coast alone to start your career. Now you are doing well at work/class and have everything except power tonight. I will cross my fingers and hope the power is back very soon. Although not their fan, I still congratulate Cardinals to win the championship. Happy Halloween!
Yeah, I was in St. Louis 15 years ago. I am very happy for Cardinals!
