After I arrived in Bangkok, Kenya Airway delayed the plane for 9 hours. They put the passengers at a hotel in Bangkok. The flight will get me to Nairobi at 2:40pm, which is still ahead of my meeting time at 6pm. The hotel is kind of nice. Will get some Thai food for dinner and shower. Oh, I obviously don’t have any changing clothes with me. 🙂
Nairobi? So you will cross equator again!
Writing from Wellfleet Sunday afternoon during Tropical Storm Irene, downgraded from hurricane early today. Winds are in the 40’smph down here, less in Central MA. Clinton area got a lot of water – 5 inches in some towns. Just tried calling Darren for a Clinton update for you but guess he’s sleeping after his night time shift. A lot of uprooted trees in central/eastern MA. It’s sunny down here now! We went down to check out the surf around Noon and very wild, of course. Concern is more for tonite’s high tide due to astronomical new moon elements/storm surges. Overall, we’ve been spared though western MA is susceptible to river overflow issues.
Tomorrow should be a good beach day. Looking forward to your Africa photos/storyline.
Thanks for the update!
